In 10 Cloverfield Lane Big Game Spot Something Is Coming

Last month Bad Robot pulled of something Hollywood has found impossible to do keep the Cloverfield follow up 10 Cloverfield Lane a secret right up until it’s trailer. Now that trailer revealed the ‘blood relative’ today a new Superbowl TV Spot unveils more new footage, but also the conundrum something is coming!

In the latest promo the mystery behind the mystery that teased us in the film’s full trailer deepens on what really has happened and why our protagonists seem to be held in a mysterious bunker with a strange man?

10 Cloverfield Lane still doesn’t have a proper plot synopsis which suggests that if we have the synopsis it could potentially be a big plot spoiler. Whilst JJ Abrams is a big fan of teasing cinephiles rather for going for a reveal all route, not in Abrams nature. From what we can gather Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays Michelle a young woman who is involved in a car crash. she is ‘rescued’ by a stranger who takes her to his underground bunker for her safety. There she meets another man (John Gallagher Jr) both seem to be trapped due to a an unknown cataclysmic event. There genial host (played by John Goodman)tells both staying underground is for their own good not to leave, both a reluctant to believe him. Is he telling them the truth? Is he hiding something? Could he be a unhinged paranoid madman, whatever he is Michelle is determined to go outside.

The spot plays on the relationship between Winstead and Goodman’s characters , we are teased that something is coming. The main trailer the tension and paranoia took centre stage however this short but brief promo suggests a monster or something mysterious is coming especially in the last shot. Teasing the possibilities for this film is a good move and Abrams seem to have learned from his previous mistakes keeping tight lipped.It’s great to see that they haven’t went down the found footage the countryside setting might mean the scale of the films will rival Cloverfield but doesn’t mean it wont satisfy our excitement to see this.

10 Cloverfield Lane is out in UK&Ireland on 11th March.
