Hugh Jackman Is ‘No Hero’ In The Death Of Robin Hood UK Trailer
A darker retelling of the Robin Hood story from the director of Pig.
Robin Hood is a legendary character loved by many, but was he a real hero? But, judging from True Brit Entertainment‘s UK Trailer for The Death Of Robin Hood, he may have fallen short of the myth surrounding him.
We’ve seen Old man Bruce Wayne aka Batman in many shapes and forms, now it’s Robin’s turn. Hugh Jackman is the old man in Michael Sarnoski‘s (Pig, A Quiet Place: Day One) latest, and he doesn’t look like a symbol of justice. In The Death Of Robin Hood, he’s crippled by guilt, battle weary and seriously injured from fighting a mysterious female warrior. Will he find salvation?
Jackman is no stranger to this type of character. Inย James Mangold‘s Logan, he thought he was the villain and in this one it’s questionable whether Robin doesn’t believe he’s a hero. We’ll have to wait for the film’s release to find out the truth, but this dark, gritty version looks promising and it has a great cast as well.
Synopsis | THE DEATH OF ROBIN HOOD is a darker reimagining of the classic Robin Hood tale. Set of its time, the film sees the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder; a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.
Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgรฅrd, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe all join Jackman in The Death Of Robin Hood. The film is scheduled for release in UK and Irish cinemas this year, as well as in the US where it will be distributed by A24 Films.
