Halo the popular sci-fi epic video game for X-Box as well as many other platforms has been targetted as a motion picture for many years but doesn’t seem to get its self out of development hell. Most recently the team of Lord of The Ring Maestro Peter Jackson and District 9 creator Neil Blomkamp where attempting to bring the game to the big screenย  but after six months spent on the project they pulled out due to Microsoft unable to find the pair a studio to partner with.

But at the recentย  MI6 Conference in San Francisco Halo cheif Frank O’Connor revealed that Microsoft really want to make this a movie;

We’re going to make a movie when the time is right,” he said. “We own the [intellectual property]. If we want to make a movie, the scale of all the other stuff that we do changes dramatically. We make tens and tens of millions of dollars on ancillary stuff, toys, apparel, music and publishing. If we do a movie all of that will grow exponentially. We have some numbers if we do a movie, but it changes everything. It also changes our target and age demographic.
