In Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird UK Trailer, Saoirse Ronan Is A Rebel With A Heart

She may be seen as a pioneer of ‘Mumblecore‘ and now Greta Gerwig is behind the camera for Lady Bird starring Saoirse Ronan. The movie marks her solo directorial feature debut and it’s a movie that’s gaining the plaudits on the festival. Some are even saying potential Oscar contention?

With the movie buzz on a high Universal Pictures has released the UK version of the trailer.A Coming of age story of a young woman(Ronan), A rebel at heart who test the nerves of authorities. Also her mother (Metcalf), an autobiographical movie about Gerwig’s life? Check out the UK Trailer

It’s amazing to think the Irish actress is only 23 and very versatile in her craft. She seems to get better movie by movie she stars in. There seems no role, no situation she can’t play and once again with one, not wanting to be trapped with a life in her small town. Heading to the bright lights of New York City, determined to make her own path, not one that fate wants, a bit like myself! There is an economic message at hand here too.

This looks very quirky, whimsical a movie that looks to challenge those Mother-Daughter relationships. If your little girl is stubborn, unconventional most of determined, let her follow that path. It might be the best path she takes. Gerwig your lead actress might just be ready to take your Mumblecore crown.

Christine ‘Lady Bird’ McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) fights against but is exactly like her wildly loving, deeply opinionated and strong-willed mom (Laurie Metcalf), a nurse working tirelessly to keep her family afloat after Lady Bird’s father (Tracy Letts) loses his job. Set in Sacramento, California in 2002, amidst a rapidly shifting American economic landscape, LADY BIRD is an affecting look at the relationships that shape us, the beliefs that define us, and the unmatched beauty of a place called home.

Lady Bird will be released in the UK and Ireland from February 2018. The movie also stars Lucas Hedges, Odeya Rush and Timothée Chalamet.
