Going ‘Underground’ In UK Trailer For American Fighter

Everyone deserves a new start, a new life and in American Fighter, George Kosturos must go ‘underground’. Signature Entertainment have released the UK Trailer when a young Iranian man is forced to enter the world of underground fighting.

In this one, we find ourselves after the events of the 1981 hostage crisis of the U.S. embassy in Tehran. When Ali (Kosturos), a young Iranian immigrant arrives in America, determined to start a new life. Once he arrived he’s determined to bring his mother over, he needs the funding. Desperate to save his mother, Ali is forced to enter the vicious world of underground fighting putting his own life at risk.

Watching this Trailer it feels like it has a big slice of 1980’s Cannon film style with some Rocky and The Karate Kid inspiring this one. This one also has Sons Of Anarchy Scottish actor Tommy Flanagan, being Scottish!

American Fighter boasts many gritty and excellently choreographed fight scenes reminiscent of action cult classics Rocky, Lionheart or The Karate Kid.

A desperate teenager is forced into the dangerous world of underground fighting to win enough money to save his ailing mother. He finds out what he’s made of in the face of these violent hungry competitors.

The film also stars Christina Moore, Sean Patrick Flanery, Allison Paige and Salome Azizi. Shaun Paul Piccinino (The Lackey) directs this one.

The American Fighter will be yours to own when it’s released in the UK and Ireland from 20th July.
