Here’s one for hose out there love a little cry, the first trailer for Tony Goldwyn’s CONVICTION which has just been released by Fox Searchlight.
The movie is based on the true life events of Betty Ann Waters who puts herself through school then law school in a quest to overturn her brother’s murder conviction(convicted 1983), a quest that would take her 18 years.
Stellar cast of Hilary Swank (Betty), Sam Rockwell (Betty’s brother Kenny), Minnie Driver, Melissa Leo, Juliette Lewis and Peter Gallagher. This movie is one for the tearjerker brigade despite the solid cast the movie does fall victim to the sterotypical cliches of it genre but with Rockwell and Swank onboard it should do okay when it comes out. So when is it out? No date has been set yet for anywhere but expect end of the year if not early 2011.
Betty Anne Waters (Swank) is a high school dropout who spent nearly two decades working as a single mother while putting herself through law school, tirelessly trying to beat the system and overturn her brother’s (Rockwell) unjust murder conviction. – imdb
