More news about reboots Logan’s Run finally has a writer to join Ridley Scott protege Carl Erik Rinsch as director on the reboot (and 3-D reboot yipee doo!) of the classic 1970’s science fiction.

Rinsch may not be an household name but he released a fantastic short called the Gift back in april which got a few bigshots talking , as for Alex Garland his cv is just fantastic thats everything from The Beach, 28 days later and has just finshed scripting for Mark Romanek’s Never Let Go. In the era of constant remakes, reboots, prequels will this finally be a talent writer and director joining minds to recreate a sci-fi classic properly? On paper it looks that way.

As for when Logan’s run will go into production, possibly not until 2011 with 2012 release during already crowded schedule which includes spiderman 2, avengers, star trek 2, battleships. Joel silver and Akiva Goldsman producing.
