First Look Poster For DreamWorks Animation’s Upcoming ‘Abominable’

Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation have released an adorable first look at their upcoming animated feature, ‘Abominable’, which is being co-produced by China’s Pearl Studio.

The film (previously titled ‘Everest’) will take audiences on an epic 3,000-mile journey from the streets of Shanghai to the breathtaking Himalayan snowscapes. When a mischievous group of friends encounter a young Yeti, they embark upon an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family at the highest point on Earth.

Directed by Jill Culton (Open Season) and co-directed by Todd Wilderman (Trolls, The Croods), Abominable is produced by Suzanne Buirgy (Kung Fu Panda 2, Home) and executive produced by Tim Johnson (Over the Hedge, Home, ANTZ). Chloe Bennet (Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) has been cast in the lead role of Yi with a supporting cast of Asian talent including; Albert Tsang as her cousin Peng, Tenzing Norgay Trainor as Gin and Tsai Chin as Yi’s grandmother. I’m hopeful there will be others that are not yet announced.

The film is set to be released worldwide beginning September 27, 2019. In China, the film will be distributed by Pearl. This first look poster is adorable and gives us our first glimpse at the young yeti in the story. He’s cute for sure! But give us the trailer soon DreamWorks, I’m dying to see the landscapes and other characters created for this one.
