First Look At The Batman Part II Amidst New 2028 Delay
Matt Reeves' sequel has been delayed by an additional four months.
Warner Bros has dropped the first look at Matt Reeves’ upcoming superhero sequel, The Batman Part II, whilst also delaying the film to February 18th, 2028.
The film has now seen multiple delays, with this one being caused by a chain reaction within the release calendar of the Hollywood studio. J.J. Abramsโ new sci-fi film The Great Beyond, which was scheduled to release on November 13th this year, has now been moved back to the previous release date for The Batman Part II, of October 1st, 2027.
Plot details are being kept under wraps for the film; it is said to take place in a wintry Gotham after the events of HBOโs The Penguin TV series. Robert Pattinson returns to the role of the Dark Knight, with Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, Gil Perez-Abraham and Jayme Lawson all reprising their roles as James Gordon, Alfred, The Penguin, Officer Martinez and Bella Reรกl respectively.ย

Beyond these two Batman films, Matt Reeves is no stranger to a franchise, he directed the second and third instalments of the reimagining of the Planet of the Apes films. These include 2014โs Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and its successor War for the Planet of the Apes. He also directed the hit 2008 found-footage horror film Cloverfield.ย
Reeves has penned this film alongside co-writer Mattson Tomlin. Erik Messerschmidt has taken over the role of cinematographer from Greig Fraser, who shot the first film.
