Tomorrow will see BFI London Film Festival open the box office to for this year’s festival to general public. Ahead of the festival Studiocanal UK has unveiled a first look and UK cinema release date for Florian Zeller‘s psychological drama thriller Bunker.

The film is diving head first into the emotional an the moral challenges of marriage. If you are going to deliver something that looks a genuine marriage what better coupleย  to have leading the cast than real life actor couple, Javier Bardem and Penรฉlope Cruz.

This film is directed by the director of The Father and The Son. Zeller is no stranger to the challenges of marriage and relationships. The actual title of his latest, Bunker teases something that will jump into paranoia or something very dark. Bardem is an architect Miguel who has been married to Sofia (Cruz) for nearly 2 decades. When he gets offered a job by a paranoid billionaire to build a luxury bunker, Sofia starts to question her marriage to Miguel.

The film also stars Stephen Graham, Paul Dano, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.

Synopsis | When an architect accepts a morally ambiguous project โ€” building a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire โ€” his wife begins to question their marriage after 17 years together. Bunker is a dramatic thriller that examines the emotional and moral challenges faced by a couple as the anxieties of an increasingly uncertain world begin to reshape their marriage, exploring the fears, doubts, and ethical dilemmas that define our time.

Bunker will be released in the UK and Ireland on 19th February 2027. The film will play at BFI London Film Festival on 10th October [more info/book tickets].
