Films Featuring A-List Cast (Last Vegas Feature)

It’s not often that you find five Academy Award winners all featured in one cast. Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline and Mary Steenburgen have seven Oscars between them, and all star in the upcoming comedy Last Vegas. To mark the release of this new A-list movie, we are taking a look at other movies with an extremely talented cast.

Pulp Fiction (1994)


The Cast: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, Ving Rhames, Christopher Walken, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, Rosanna Arquette, Eric Stoltz, Amanda Plummer. Directed by Quentin Tarantino, this dark comedic crime film follows the story of two mob hit men, a boxer, a gangster’s wife and a pair of diner bandits as their lives intertwine in violence and redemption. The film won many awards including seven Oscar Nominations

Oceans 11 (2001)

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and eight other guys make a dream cast filled not only with eye candy, but also incredible talent. They cast teams up to take down three of the biggest casinos in Las Vegas. With casinos, action, robbery, con artists and attraction, Oceans 11 is a must-see. With the film grossing $450,728,529 worldwide and positive remarks from critics, Oceans 11 is a classic.

Love Actually (2003)

The “ultimate romantic comedy”, Love Actually is a Christmas themed movie with an ensemble cast of fantastic British actors. With love as the central theme, the ten separate stories interlink as the story progresses. The film is a dramatic romantic comedy and a holiday classic!

The Departed (2006)


The Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga, Anthony Anderson.
Taking place in Boston, Martin Scorsese makes another Academy Award winning crime thriller. Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio), a young cop trying to make a name for himself in the law enforcement, is assigned the task of working undercover in mob boss Frank Costello’s (Jack Nicholson) inner circle. Collin Sullivan (Matt Damon) is a street-smart criminal who has been working his way up the ladder in the Boston Police Department while secretly working for Costello. Each mole trying to figure out the other, the movie is action packed and exciting. With a fabulous cast and a thrilling story, the film won four Academy Awards out of five nominations.

Tropic Thunder


The Cast: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey, Jr., Jack Black, Steve Coogan, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Brandon T. Jackson, Bill Hader, Nick Nolte, Tom Cruise.
Tropic Thunder co-Written, co-produced, directed by, and co-starring Ben Stiller, tells the story of a group of prima donna actors making a fictional Vietnam War film. Frustrated, the director drops the actors in the middle of the jungle, leaving them to survive in real action by relying on their acting skills. The film won several awards by various groups including the Screen Actors Guild, Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.

Moonrise Kingdom (2012)


The Cast:  Bruce Willis, Ed Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel, Jason Schwartzman, Bob Balaban, Kara Hayward, Jared Gilman.
Two twelve year olds fall in love at a summer camp, make a secret pact, and run away together into the wilderness. Edward Norton, Scout troop leader, Bill Murray and Frances McDormand, the young girls parents, and Bruce Willis, the local sheriff, all try and find the young couple. Moonrise Kingdom received critical acclaim and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and for the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
