Siberia is a movie about a married U.S. Diamond merchant Lucas Hill (Keanu Reeves) who travels to Russia to negotiate a deal to sell some rare blue diamonds. Upon arriving he discovers that his business partner and diamonds are missing. He makes a deal with the Russian Oligarch Boris Volkov (Pasha D. Lychnikoff) to buy him some time and travels to Siberia to find his partner and diamonds. While there he comes across Katya (Ana Ularu) a cafe owner who offers to help him in return of sexual favours, to which he happily obliges. The end.
Iโve just saved everyone 104 minutes of their time and wasted mine watching this slow, dull, boring, disappointing movie.
I guess everyone who wants to watch this movie, will do so with great expectations, especially after being entertained by Keanu Reeves in John Wick, but this movie is nowhere close at being good or entertaining.
Itโs not even a thriller or a drama, neither is there any romance or action, there are so many loose ends and plot holes and simply no purpose to the story besides showing some seedy unsavoury scenes of sex which had no chemistry and appeared cold and uncomfortable for the actors and viewers.
Molly Ringwald plays the wife who is cheated on, but is hardly used and appears probably twice in the whole movie which is only briefly.
At one moment I had a slight hope of a twist in the story of deception by Katya on Hill but that too vanished fairly quickly.
The director doesnโt seem to know in which direction he is going and what the purpose of the movie is and the endingโฆwell, it just ends with no significance just like the rest of the movie.
The movie is just as cold as the title and I would just rate it 1 out of 5 and that’s only because I like Keanu Reeves.
I would definitely advise you to miss out on this one, but if youโre still desperate to watch it then just wait for it to come on television, Netflix or some other rental streaming site, if they risk putting it on.
