Film Review 2 - Ocean's 8 (2018)

Sister to heist ringmaster Danny Ocean of the previous Oceans films, Debbie (Sandra Bullock) released from prison for a crime she was involved with but did not commit. Getting out means immediately planning something of the highest order concerning a robbery within the New York party of the year the Met Ball, a gala where elite guests wear elite jewels.

Rallying a gang together is part of the fun forn unassuming Debbie, Australian screen maestro Cate Blanchett is old friend Lou rejoins her friend to recruit the rest of an obscure team to supposedly get rich quick.

Helena Bonham Carter as a fashion designer Rose Weil gets the most laughs, adorable ageless and quick-fire unique and Sarah Paulson can do no wrong here as Tammy, just adorable. However, the cast is well chosen all around, pairing up opposites attract making for freewheeling viewing suiting the jazzy style.

An unbelievable primary objective is to secure a priceless diamond necklace on the neck of famous actress Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) then somehow taking from her under the keen eyes of personal security and multiple in-house cameras. Bring it on.

The premise is looked at from all angles there is energy and fun on the way to grand larceny going like clockwork.
Kinks in the plot, needlessly complicated insertions aside on the day of the event, things go awry of course, Banksy may be even involved.

Entertainment value is high. Look fast for choice Daniella Rabbani, at the beginning in a small significant role behind the Bergdorf counter.

Cameos galore some subtle many not, I adore Anna Wintour, fans of the original trio of Steven Soderbergh reboots are sure to be slightly happy but I see Oceans 8, as a companion piece, not a continuation.

Sandra Bullock intricate to proceedings nothing less than dynamic, no weak link here from anyone, even rare male co-star James Corden, delivering sharp observational dialogue with astute ease.
Catch this for breezy wide-eyed fluff.
