FF2014 – Dan Stevens Your Guest In First The Guest Trailer

He may have been one of the ‘nice guys’ in Downton Abbey but now Dan Stevens in The Guest is certainly not that nice guy anymore, watch the film’s first trailer.

The Guest sees Stevens as a mysterious stranger called David who introduces himself to the Petersen family as one of their dead son’s soldier comrades who was recently killed in action. However as things start to not to make sense for the grieving family the atmosphere turns nasty as they start to discover David might be behind a recent spate of ‘accidental deaths’

The trailer looks very intense, with some nice atmospheric  tunes , Stevens looks like he’s delivering a very evasive role which may surprise some Downton Abbey Loyalists. This may not be construed as a horror film but it nicely fits into the horror thriller crossover, a very distinctive style to The Guest is making this one an interesting film to check out.

The Guest comes from the team that brought us the underrated You’re Next with  Adam Wingard directing with Simon Barrett scripting.So it’s no surprise the film will be heading to this month’s Film 4 Frightfest in London end of the month before embarking on a UK cinematic run from 5th September. The film co-stars Maika Monroe, Lance Reddick and Leland Orser, with the film opening the 15th Film 4 Frightfest on 22nd August.
