Feature – The Craziest Proposals Of Them All
To celebrate the release of the hilarious romantic comedy, The Five Year Engagement on DVD and Blu-ray, we wanted to take a look at some of our favourite crazy proposal stories.
Everyone has seen the variety of YouTube proposal videos but we wanted to round-up our favourites and share them with you! We also wanted to have a look at some celebrity engagement stories to pick out the best of the bunch!
YouTube Proposals
Top of the list has to be Matt proposing to Ginny. He rented a cinema screen and arranged for Ginnyโs brother to take her to see โFast Fiveโ. During the adverts for upcoming films suddenly she heard Mattโs voice on the screen. He had prepared a full film of their love story, including a portion where he asked her dad for her hand in marriage. The film lasts a full 7 minutes and he finished it off by rushing into the cinema to ask for her answer! Of course she said yes!

Secondly has to be Josh falling off a building to propose to his fiancรฉe Brooke. He stands on a wall and as someone throws something for him to catch he topples off the wall. Brooke is almost inconsolable, but as she looks over the wall she sees the words โWill you marry meโ written on the floor. Naturally she says yes!

Another one near the top of the list has to be Ryan Thomas proposing to his girlfriend in a light aircraft. As they got higher in the air, Ryan claimed that the plane was failing and they were going to crash! She read the flight manual and the final page had the words โWill you marry me?โ written on themโ! Sheโs elated and of course accepts.

One of our other favourites is a flashmob to the song โMarry Youโ by Bruno Mars. Jamin and Val were walking through Disney World, when suddenly a flashmob started around them dancing to the Bruno Mars tune, at the end of the song Jamin got down on one knee and popped the question!

For celebrity craziness, we have some other brilliant examples:
Matthew McConaughey proposed to Camilla Alves by wrapping her engagement ring in eight different boxes, creating a modern day pass-the-parcel effect! When she reached the final layer he got down on one knee and proposed!
When Nick Candy proposed to Holly Valance, he wrote the words โWill you marry meโ in firelighters and then lit it before getting down on one knee. It looked spectacular (see below)!

Popstar Pink took matters in to her own hands, proposing to her husband Carey Hart by holding up a sign saying โWill you marry me?โ while he was riding in a Motocross tournament. He didnโt stop riding until she held up another sign saying โIโm seriousโ at which point he jumped off his bike to say yes.
Tori Spellingโs husband took Christmas celebrations to an extreme, arranging for a horse-drawn carriage to take him and Tori on a ride through a Christmas tree farm. At the end of the path there was a table surrounded by Christmas trees and on top was a diamond and sapphire ring.
