A scene from Fantastic Beasts: Secrets Of Dumbledore

War is brewing in the wizarding world as Warner Bros release the official First (UK) Trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. The long awaited second sequel to Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find them takes a step closer to release with a promo teases familiar lands to Potterheads…Hogwarts!

Fantastic Beasts so far has been a bumpy road, first film was an enjoyable adventure. The second film got even darker, had potential but no cohesion dividing audiences. A pandemic delayed the proceedings, Johnny Depp was replaced by Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald all thanks to personal controversary. This trailer gives us a first look at Mikkelsen as the dark wizard and amping up his war with muggles. As for Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) we find him in Hogwarts, flashbacks even stepping into the Room Of Requirement.

What we can see from this promo Newt’s brother Thesus (Callum Turner) is bringing together a team to take on Grindelwald’s followers. Will Dumbledore stay in the shadows?

I didn’t mind the second film, critically a failure but at the box office a success. Compared to previous films this potentially looks like a far better film and closer to Harry Potter world which will please hardcore fans.

Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?

The rest of the cast includes Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Katherine Waterston, and Jessica Williams. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore arrives in UK, Irish and US cinemas from 8th April 2022.
