Denis Villeneuve‘s  Prisoners was a fantastic piece of filmmaking  for his next feature he re-teams with Jake Gyllenhaal for Enemy who finds himself up against himself! Check the film’s first trailer and featurette.

Adam Bell (Gyllenhaal) is over paranoid college professor who discovers via TV Anthony St.Claire  a  minor actor who is keen to meet. After tracking him down Anthony seems to be like a doppelganger who lives similar to Adam and engages in a dangerous  complex struggle .

It seems to be a week of doubles with yesterdays Richard Ayaode’s The Double which Jesse Eisenberg struggles with his doppelganger, Enemy  takes a more serious route rather than humour. It’s a film about identity, duality, struggle not the easiest film to decipher with giving too much away and in the new  4 minute Featurette attempts to explore those themes in great detail. From interviews with key cast and Villeneuve himself explaining also how Adam faces his demons but before you watch this there is new footage but could potentially seen as a bit on the spoiler side.

The Trailer I have to apologise for  as this one slipped under the radar a few weeks ago but what better time to show it with this new featurette. The trailer doesn’t reveal too much apart from setting up the film’s plot nicely and from it’s early festival reviews most notably Toronto Enemy  looks a fantastic prospect when it’s finally released in UK.

There is no word yet on the UK release date yet but American cinephiles can catch Enemy next month 14th March or now on VOD. Enemy co-stars Mélanie Laurent, Isabella Rossellini and Sarah Gadon.
