James L. Brooks Returns With First Trailer For New Film Ella McCay

20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for Ella McCay, the new film from James L. Brooks, and you can watch it below!

The film marks L. Brooks’ return to feature films after 15 years. His last film was the 2010 rom-com How Do You Know, which starred Reese Witherspoon, Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and the legendary Jack Nicholson. Brooks has won many accolades, including Terms Of Endearment, Broadcast News and As Good As It Gets. Melodrama, laughs, and chaos all assured when it comes to a James L.Brooks feature film!

Ella McCay stars Sex Education star Emma Mackey in the titular role with Jamie Lee Curtis as her mother. Ella is a successful politician who is attempting to balance that success with her chaotic family life. She loves her family but those she loves are the source of her anger and make things too toxic…

An idealistic young woman juggles her family and work life in a comedy about the people you love and how to survive them.

This one also stars Jack Lowden, Kumail Nanjiani, Ayo Edebiri, Spike Fearn, Rebecca Hall, Julie Kavner, Becky Ann Baker, Joey Brooks, Albert Brooks and Woody Harrelson.

Ella McCay will be released in the UK, Irish and U.S. cinemas from 12th December.
