Time to drive fast in the face of the devil, as Ron Howard‘s Rush drive into pole position with the film’s first UK  trailer biopic of Formula 1  legends James Hunt and Nikki Lauda.
Rush focuses on the heated rivalry between British F1 driver Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Austrian Lauda (Daniel Bruhl) which heated up after Lauda’s crash in 1976 German Grand Prix. It was a rivalry which would see the pair intensify their rivalry leading upto the championship final in Fiji.
Despite the past few years not been the best for Ron Howard, he’ll be hoping Rush will get him back on track and with a Peter Morgan  script I would not put it past him seeing this challenging for Awards next year. This looks a solid, intense film visually impressive capturing the 1970’s aesthetic fantastically well  but the real challenge is how will they overcome peoples interest in F1 which hasn’t had the best of times in Hollywood. The focus on both drivers wont just be on the racing but also the lavish lifestyle the pair lived, I’m not a fan of the sport but in Sporting history this is one of the most famous rivalries ever makings of a great story that must be told.
Rush will arrive in UK&Ireland 13th September 2013 (USA 20th September), the film co-stars Olivia Wilde and Christian McKay.
Synopsis
The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives.
Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.
