DVD Review – Friend Request (2016)

friend-request
Dark, Different with a Euro horror vibe

Laura (Alycia Debnam Carey) is a young college student who find herself in a bizarre mysterious situation after unfriending an odd girl form her college. Friends and loved one begin to get picked off leaving Laura to wonder what or who is doing this. Trying to find answers, however might cost her her own life.

Friend request  is a 2016 social media based horror film and is actually very awesome. I did not like ti at first but gradually began to really enjoy the film.

After watching Hacked (The Den) and Unfriended both of which I really enjoyed I actually was dreading watching this. Seeing that in the UK ,Warner Home Video was behind the films release gave me some hope though. And I was right the film was great.

I will start by saying this was not a favourite of mine but it was good enough for me to want to watch it again. I found that the more I thought about the film the more I liked it. I found myself thinking about the atmosphere and the score as well as the cinematography, this was a for sure sign of a good film.

I found out that the film was actually made and produced in Germany which made a lot of sense to me as the film really had a European horror feel to it. Which I really liked and actually made it stand out a little more form the their films in this growing sub genre.

I really liked that this was not a film only filmed through web cm it was a normal styled filmed movie which means we could get more of a taste of what was in store for  while still playing on the social media theme.

Overall this film was very very good and one I would say to go and check it out its well worth the buy and I am pleased to see it get a release through a major studio.
