Keyboard warriors beware, Ivo Van Aart‘s Dutch Revenge Thriller The Columnist will be released in the UK next month. Today Vertigo Releasing have sent us over the UK Trailer as an author ‘let’s off some steam’ in the name of revenge!

Katja Herbers (Westworld) stars as newspaper columnist/author Femke stuck in a writers block. Things don’t get any better for her thanks to the disgusting abuse and death threats on social media. She decides to take things into her own hands and deliver some vengeance.

The film does have much relevance nowadays with the toxicity that plagues social media. No one should be subjected to abuse or threats of any level and the film promises to deliver an ‘enough is enough’ message. The film has played numerous film festivals in 2020 including Frightfest to some fantastic reviews. This looks seriously dark, satirical and off course a must watch! Newspaper columnist and author Femke Boot is suffering from writers’ block, and her mood isn’t improved by the torrent of abuse and death threats she receives daily on social media. When she discovers that her obnoxious, loud neighbour is one of the anonymous people posting vile comments, she snaps and takes matters into her own hands. As she finds herself able to write again, she sets out on a mission – track down the trolls and deliver some swift, polite and deadly vengeance.

The film also stars Genio de Groot, Rein Hofman, Bram van der Kelen, and Achraf Koutet.

The Columnist will be released in the UK and Ireland in cinemas as well as Digital HD format from 12th March.
