Disney Pixar’s Elemental To Close Cannes Film Festival Watch New Trailer

Elemental coming to UK and Irish cinemas from 7th July from Disney-Pixar

The Cannes Film Festival have announced Disney-Pixar Elemental will close this year’s festival with it’s world premiere. That premiere will take place on 27th May and today we get a look at a wonderful new UK Trailer.

The news marks the studio’s fourth film to premiere at Cannes, joining the ranks of Up, Inside Out and Soul. The studio’s last film Lightyear was not to the studio’s typical critical success, some may see this as a risky move.

Elemental tells the story of Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.

The voice cast includes Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively, are Ronnie del Carmen as Emberโ€™s soon-to-be retired dad, Bernie; Shila Ommi as Emberโ€™s love-seeking mom, Cinder; Wendi McLendon-Covey as Wadeโ€™s stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine Oโ€™Hara as Wadeโ€™s welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer as Emberโ€™s admiring earth neighbour, Clod; and Joe Pera as an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern.

This certainly looks like Pixar will be back on form…

Disney and Pixarโ€™s โ€œElemental,โ€ an all-new original feature film that transports moviegoers to an extraordinary place called Element City, where a host of elements live and work. The trailer showcases each elementโ€”air, earth, water and fireโ€”and what sets them apart according to Ember, a quick-witted and fiery woman whoโ€™s always stayed close to home in Firetown. In Elemental she finally ventures out of her comfort zone to explore this spectacular world born from the imaginations of Pixarโ€™s filmmakers and specifically crafted for the big-screen experience. Element City is inspired by big cities around the globe and embraces theorized contributions from each elemental communityโ€”from giant pine-tree-like buildings and waterfall skyscrapers to a tornado-shaped arena called Cyclone Stadium.

Elemental also has a new UK and Irish cinema release date of 7th July.
