King Arthur Legend Of The Sword - David Beckham

He was one of English football’s finest players, he’s married to a Spice Girl and now David Beckham is now imitating his Hollywood neighbours and has become an actor. Goldenballs, as he’s sometimes, called will be making his acting debut in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword and Warner Bros has sent us a clip which we see the ex-footballer unleashing his inner thespian skills.

The clip is entitled ‘Both Hands’ and Beckham’s character (sounding like an extra straight out of Eastenders)wants Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) on his ‘knee’.This is the iconic scene when Stupid (or Arthur) attempts to pull Excalibur out the stone. Will Arthur get his birthright honoured and become the next king?

Acting and sports have not always been a success, many have tried very few succeeded. Despite appearing on Sky Sports TV Adverts or ones showcasing his new range of pants for men this is new territory for David Beckham. Whilst we don’t know how big a role he has in this movie, we assume it’s a small role and if he’s to succeed best taking little baby steps. Warner Bros have 6 movies in total so who knows if the next one that role might be a little bigger!

We also have another promo called’Not Going to Fight’, a featurette that goes behind the scenes of Arthur’s swagger and charm.

Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthurโ€™s journey from the streets to the throne.

When the child Arthurโ€™s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthurโ€™s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacyโ€ฆwhether he likes it or not.

King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword is set for a 19th May UK&Irish release date co-starring Jude Law, Astrid Bergรจs-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou, Aidan Gillen, Eric Bana, Poppy Delevingne and Annabelle Wallis.
