Dave Bautista joins Road House 2

Dave Bautista is officially joining the cast as Kratos in Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television‘s live-action God of War series.

Bautista replaces Ryan Hurst, who previously played the PlayStation character. His casting follows reports earlier this month that he was under consideration for the part. Hurst was forced to leave the series after suffering a torn bicep while performing a stunt during production. The injury required surgery and would have significantly extended the show’s forced hiatus, prompting Amazon and Sony to recast Kratos rather than wait out Hurst’s recovery. Production on God of War began in Vancouver in February, but the accident halted filming. With Bautista now officially on board, preparations are under way for filming to resume in October.
