Daniel Radcliffe Finally Clarifies Wolverine Rumours

Daniel Radcliffe has definitively addressed the long‑running speculation about whether he could be the next actor to play the iconic role of Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The rumours, which have circulated online for years, suggested the Harry Potter alum might one day follow in the footsteps of Hugh Jackman. However, Radcliffe himself has now put those ideas firmly to rest.

In a recent interview promoting his new NBC comedy series The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, Radcliffe described the Wolverine chatter as “a very flattering internet rumour”, but stressed that it was never grounded in reality. He explained that the suggestion had never come from anyone “with any power to make that happen,” making it clear that there was never a serious offer or negotiation behind the online speculation.

Although he admitted that the idea was fun to consider, Radcliffe made it clear that taking on the role of Wolverine – especially in succession to Jackman’s beloved portrayal – isn’t something he has personally pursued. He acknowledged Jackman’s defining contribution to the character and said that following such an iconic performance “is not on my bucket list for anything.”

That said, Radcliffe did not completely rule out appearing in a superhero franchise in the future. He suggested that he would be open to compelling roles in either the Marvel or DC universes, provided the material was original and interesting. His remarks offer a balanced perspective: while he doesn’t see himself as Wolverine, he remains open to new and diverse creative opportunities.

Overall, the actor’s comments should put an end to persistent fan casting debates. at least for now  while underscoring his preference for roles that align with his artistic interests rather than franchise legacy.
