Daniel Craig Wants Ed Sheeran For Bond 25 Theme

While there have not been too many developments on the Bond 25 front outside of another peeping tom incident, word has now arrived that Bond 25 might have discovered its newest musician to join the likes of Adele and Chris Cornell. According to the UK Daily Mirror, Ed Sheeran is looking like who will be composing the main theme song for Bond 25. Sheeran’s luck comes compliments of Daniel Craig’s daughter, Ella.
Ella is a huge fan and introduced Sheeran to her father. Now, Craig is a big fan and wants to get Sheeran to do the film’s theme song. Previously, Sheeran has talked about his interest in composing a theme song for a Bond film. He might be like a loud alarm clock. He said in 2017 that he had a theme tune written about three years ago to that day. Sheeran, while having sold over 150 million records worldwide, is apparently not the only artist up for consideration on this film.
The British publication also reports that Adele could make a return because of how successful her first theme song was for Skyfall. The song was a huge hit with audiences and Adele fans alike when it was released back in 2012. It was as big a hit as a loud alarm clock. Nearly seven years later, the fact it’s still being talked about says something.
While not a bad theme song at all, the same cannot be said for Sam Smith’s “Writing on The Wall.” It did not blow audiences or general music fans away like Adele’s blockbuster song did. Many thought it paled in comparison and that Adele’s song was more worthy of winning an Oscar than Sam Smith’s was. Yet, many classic songs that have come about throughout Bond history. Other artists such as Tom Jones and Madonna have made memorable themes to some of the films.
Craig has a decent amount of sway over the decisions on these films since he is also a producer on Bond 25 too. It will be fascinating to see just how this develops as it moves forward.
