Daniel Brühl And Rosamund Pike Are Hostage Takers In Entebbe UK Trailer

The world is a volatile place, the words of a certain Donald Trump this week proved how sensitive our little planet is. In José Padilha‘s Entebbe, we go back to the 1970’s plane hijacking was a common occurrence to 1976 and Hijacking of an Air France flight.

Daniel Brühl And Rosamund Pike star as West German Radicals who hijacked a Paris to Tel Aviv Air France flight forcing it to land in Entebbe Airport, Uganda. They wanted the release of Palestinian terrorists, ‘7 Days In Entebbe’ (the movies alternative name) chronicles that true story.

41 years on this week Donald Trump announcing Jerusalem as Isreal’s capital shows the Isreali/Palestinian conflict is no closer to a resolution. Some may argue it’s worse now, certainly more sensitive. The hijackers were welcomed with opened arms by the Uganda’s nefarious president Ide Amin. He supported the hijacker’s cause and gave them extra support.

The Narcos director’s movie promises to deliver a more nuanced look at the story which has been subject to movies before being it Television ones. It’s certainly a change of pace for Padilha and with the current climate like walking on eggshells, be interesting to see how he handles the storyline.

From the director of Narcos, ENTEBBE is based on the 1976 true story of four hijackers who took a plane hostage and forced it to land in Entebbe, Uganda, while they demanded the release of dozens of Palestinian terrorists. The ticking-clock thriller follows the hijackers and hostages as well as the political leaders trying to decide whether to negotiate or send an elite special forces unit on a dramatic rescue mission to free the hostages.

Entebbe doesn’t have a confirmed UK and Irish release date, with Entertainment One stating Spring 2018 for release. The movie also stars Eddie Marsan, Ben Schnetzer, Lior Ashkenazi, and Denis Ménochet.
