Dafne Keen summons ancient evil in the new Whistle trailer
IFC Films and Shudder present the latest bone-chilling trailer for the upcoming horror movie, Whistle. Dafne Keen, star of Logan and His Dark Materials, plays a high schooler who becomes embroiled in a supernatural curse emanating from an ancient Aztec death whistle.
So far, so M.R. James, and it isn’t long before the horny teens are being plagued by fire, blood and all manner of threatening supernatural entities. You can watch the full preview below.
Synopsis | A misfit group of unwitting high school students stumble upon a cursed object, an ancient Aztec Death Whistle. They discover that blowing the whistle and the terrifying sound it emits will summon their future deaths to hunt them down.
The movie, which co-stars Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz favourite Nick Frost and is directed by The Nun‘s Corin Hardy, premiered at the 2025 Fantastic Fest. As if Hardy’s pedigree wasn’t enough, IFC Films delivered the David Dastmalchian horror hit Late Night with the Devil while executive producer John Friedberg oversaw Osgood Perkins’ madcap Stephen King adaptation The Monkey and the same director’s chilling Longlegs.
Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Sky Yang (Holding), Percy Hynes White (My Old Ass) and Michelle Fairley (Gangs of London) also star in Whistle, which is released in the UK by Black Bear on 13th February.
