When we get into our twenties many of us may moan about the decade we spent our childhood in but move forward to your 30’s even early forties the moaning becomes nostalgic. I celebrate the big 40 next year I am a kid of the 1980s but when I look back we had a lot of really cool things like video games, 8-bit ones especially and Nintendo NES was born in the 1980s too. What if a classic film was converted into a 8-bit NES game, a film like A Christmas Story?

Thanks to Cinefix the 8-Bit Cinema experts have transformed the 1983 film into an old-school video game which is rather cool, check it out….

Here’s Cinefix’s description
8-bit Cinema “gamifies” your favorite Hollywood Blockbusters into 80’s arcade and NES inspired action!

Today we present Ralphieโ€™s epic quest to receive a Red Ryder carbine action 200 shot range model air rifleโ€ฆ in the form of an 8 bit video game! Itโ€™s almost as exciting as winning a Major Award!!

8 Bit a.k.a. the third generation of gaming started in 1983 with the Japanese release of the Nintendo Family Computer and Sega. Can you guess what games inspired our 8-bit version of A Christmas Story? Comment below and suggest the next movie 8-bit Cinema should “gamify”.

A Christmas Story maybe known this side of the Atlantic however I’ve been told by some of our American Cousins it’s part of the year staple diet of American television. Of the many films these guys have covered it may not be their most vibrant or exciting game as Ralphie is the main character and he has to lick not one but 20 poles!
