Christian Bale Unrecognisable As Dick Cheney In Vice First Trailer

Depending on what side of the American political spectrum you were on Dick Cheney was the true President of the United States. Today Entertainment One has released the first Trailer for Vice. Adam McKay’s much anticipated film on the one time U.S vice president played by Christian Bale. A transformation that will get many of us talking and ask “who ate all the pies?” Christian did!

He may only be in his early 40’s the British actor has gone through some extreme physical transformations to play certain characters. To play Cheney he had to gain nearly 3 stones (40 pounds) in weight. When asked recently at Toronto Film Festival, Bale responded by saying “I’ve just been eating a lot of pies.” You have to go back to 2004 and the psychological thriller The Machinist which saw the actor lose 4 stones (60 pounds). Amazingly gaining it really quickly the following year to be Batman in Batman Begins.

Could there be an Oscar coming Bales way? Great chance, easily a contender. The film is coming with a lot of hype, just hope it will live up to that hype. American political system is just a plain toxic (to be honest all politics is!), lots of backstabbing, conspiracy theories flying. You wonder if there are a few nervy people in power not looking forward to the release? No Texan Attorney’s where harmed in the production of this film.

VICE explores the epic story about how a bureaucratic Washington insider quietly became the most powerful man in the world as Vice-President to George W. Bush, reshaping the country and the globe in ways that we still feel today.

Amy Adams as Dick’s wife Lynn Cheney, Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld and Sam Rockwell is George W.Bush. The film has a cast of many which include Tyler Perry, Jesse Plemons, Alison Pill, Lily Rabe, Shea Whigham, Justin Kirk, Lisagay Hamilton, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Eddie Marsan.

Vice is set for a 2019 release date in the Uk and Ireland with the U.S getting it on 25th December.
