Channing Tatum on Avengers: Doomsday: “People are going to lose their minds”
Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday has officially wrapped production, and according to new MCU addition Channing Tatum, fans are dangerously unprepared for what’s coming.
Tatum, who is set to reprise his role as Gambit in the film (possibly a slight variant), spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of Roofman, hyping the scale of the film.
“I don’t know how to describe it to you,” Tatum said. “It’s going to make your brains ooze out of your ears.”
The actor then pitted the film’s potential for shock against one of the most talked-about moments from Deadpool & Wolverine.
“Like in the way I knew when Blade walks on screen in Deadpool & Wolverine, people are going to physically lose their actual minds. It’s that, but I don’t know, maybe times 50. It’s gonna be one of them things.”
Tatum, who is joining a massive confirmed cast for the film, could not reveal any plot specifics, but his final warning suggests the film will deliver some unpredictable story beats.
“As a comic fan, you’re just not ready,” he concluded.
Tatum joins Robert Downey Jr. as Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier/Professor X, Ian McKellen as Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto, James Marsden as Scott Summers/Cyclops, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi and many more.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is currently slated for release on December 18, 2026, followed by its direct sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, in 2027.
