British Indie Comedy The Regulars Gets A UK Release Date
Munro Film Services have confirmed British indie comedy The Regulars is set to get a limited UK cinema release next month.
The Regulars, a feature-length comedy-drama inspired by real-life experiences of staff at Londonโs iconic Prince Charles Cinema.
Written and directed by Fil Freitas, who was a former usher turned manager at the Prince Charles Cinema. The film offers a rare and intimate look at life behind the counter. โItโs not a documentary, but itโs close enough,โ says Freitas, whose personal experience lends the film its authenticity and tongue-in-cheek, dry humour.
Shot in black and white and presented in 4:3 aspect ratio, The Regulars evokes a timeless aesthetic, emphasising the claustrophobic nature of the filmโs setting. The ensemble cast comprises amateur and professional actors, adding to the filmโs realism. After the problems at the cult London cinema, this film might just highlight why this cinema must always be part of the city’s fabric.
