Bring Down The Death Star In New Rogue One Posters

After last week’s fantastic final trailer, today Disney sent us a set of new character posters for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story that reveal all eyes are The Death Star. The posters reveal the main characters who have a mission to destroy  the Empire’s deadliest new weapon The Death Star, but there’s also one man who is determined to stop this motley crew. All the characters seem to have the blueprints of the target , check them out….

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.

As well as the posters seem to come with descriptions of each the characters, it might not be groundbreaking information but it’s a little insight pf their personas. Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones): A checkered past, a greater cause.
Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna): An intelligence officer for the Rebel alliance. Director Orson Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn): Cruel. Brilliant. Obsessed. Chirrut Îmwe (Donnie Yen): A warrior monk with faith in the force.
K-2SO (Alan Tudyk): Reprogramed to fight the Empire who made him. Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed): Former Imperial pilot who’s seen the light.Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen): Soldier. Friend. Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker): Resolved to win the fight against the Empire.

It’s curious Ben Mendelsohn‘s character Director Krennic is the only villain in the pack of posters does this suggest something? Could he actually be an insider for the Rebellion?Bodhi Rook and K-2SO also once  sided with the Empire, what happened for them to turn against them? We’re truly looking forward to this first spin-off movie to Star Wars franchise. There’s a lot of hope this movie will work and give those other spin-off movies that are coming in the next few years hope and fans something to look forward too in between the main episodes.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released in UK&Ireland 15th December (16th USA).
