Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born Trailer Gives Lady Gaga Centre Stage

When it comes to Lady Gaga, be it a gig or a new video she will always be centre stage. In Bradley Cooper‘s directorial feature debut A Star Is Born, she once again takes centre stage in her first acting role.

Tonight Warner Bros. Pictures has released the film’s first Trailer. Cooper stars as washed out Country singer Jackson who crosses paths with a young struggling singer Ally (Gaga). He decides to take her under his wing helping her career and romance blossoms.

The film is the 3rd incarnation of the original 1937 film then again in 1954 with James Mason and Judy Garland. In 1976 the film became more rock orientated with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The music festival scenes we see in the trailer were actually from Kristofferson’s Glastonbury set last year. So are we looking at an early Awards contender?

In this new take on the tragic love story, he plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers—and falls in love with—struggling artist Ally (Gaga). She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer… until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally’s career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

The cast of “A Star is Born” also includes Andrew Dice Clay, with Dave Chappelle and Sam Elliott.

In addition to playing Ally, Gaga, who earned her Oscar nod for the song “Til It Happens to You” from “The Hunting Ground,” performs original songs in the film, which she wrote with Cooper and a handful of artists, including Lukas Nelson, Jason Isbell and Mark Ronson. All the music is original and was recorded live.

A Star Is Born will be released in the UK, Ireland, and The USA on October 5, 2018.
