Blood Lost , Life Found In The Revenant New Featurettes

Revenant

To say we’re  excited about The Revenant is anything but an understatement, with many critics already had a preview (unfortunately not us) Twentieth Century Fox  have released a host of new Featurettes looking at the film.A series of jaw-dropping featurettes looking at some incredible stories of survival against the odds. Also featured  is ‘The Brotherhood of Trappers‘  which takes a look behind the scenes of the film and hear insights from Leonardo DiCaprio, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter and director Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

As an extra bonus we have another featurette that discusses the themes of the film…

Inspired by true events, The Revenant is an immersive and visceral cinematic experience capturing one man’s epic adventure of survival and the extraordinary power of the human spirit. In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption.

Since it’s American release build up last month, it has been an “Will he or won’t he?” scenario. Will this year finally be the Oscar recognition many believe DiCaprio is due? On evidence of trailers and the early reviews it might just be, but I would also consider Emmanuel Lubezki too to sweep the awards too? Could it be a trio with Alejandro G. Iñárritu picking up best director too? Not long now until we find out, we have a hunch they will be in the winning, howe many hard to call at this stage.

The Revenant is set for an 15th January UK&Irish cinema release date.
