In the past few weeks Blade Runnerย has barely been out of the headlines, with the confirmation thatย Harrison Fordย will return for the long-awaited sequel, and the recent re-release ofย Blade Runner: The Final Cut by the BFI. It’s no wonder then that we keep seeing video essays on the influential sci-fi pop up all over the place.

In his 7ย minute video essayย Los Angeles, the City in Cinema: Blade Runner,ย Colin Marshall discusses the presentation of a dystopian LA in the film and compares how it looks to the city of today.

Also, an interestingย 1982 interview withย Ridley Scott discussing the film popped up on The Playlistย earlier this month, showing the director discussingย Blade Runner before it’s release, and it’s subsequent poor response. The American interview withย Bobbie Wygant (courtesy of Eyes on Film)ย seesย Scott talk about his process in creating the famous images ofย Blade Runner,ย and his problems with the American rating system. A very interesting watch!
