Betty Gilpin Set To Play A.I Nun In Damon Lindelof’s Mrs Davis

Charlie Brooker, Alex Garland have brought artificial intelligence back into the fold with various films and shows.  Lost Writer Damien Lindelof will be the next to try his hand with Tara Hernandez  with Mrs Davis and GLOW star Betty Gilpin set to lead the cast.

Variety  unveiled the news about the sci-fi drama series which is heading to Peacock (hopefully UK too), which was ordered back in May 2021. The plot itself is still under wraps, however the news story does reveal a few tidbits of info. With the main crux of the series to be an exploration of faith vs. technology, with Gilpin playing a Nun who battles powerful Artificial Intelligence (A.I).

This news will mark the first time Gilpin and Lindehof have worked together since The Hunt. Lindehof wrote and produced that film, Gilpin previously starred in Netflix‘s GLOW which saw her gain 3 Emmy nominations. Sadly the streaming giants cancelled the show before it ended which was set to film one final season. Like many things that changed when Covid pandemic broke, leaving many fans (including us) disappointed. Netflix have confirmed they won’t make a special one off to bring closure to all those storylines.

Next to Lindelof and Hernandez, Owen Harris (Black Mirror, Brave New World) will also be onboard to produce and direct several episodes including the first one. Tara Hernandez will be the series showrunner. Betty Gilpin will be next seen in StarzPlay‘s Gaslit next to Julia Roberts and Sean Penn. If the rumours are Damien Lindelof is set to write the script for an untitled upcoming Star Wars project.
