Beautiful new trailer for Brad Bird’s Tomorrowland arrives
Summer blockbuster season is only a few months away, and other than a certain comic-book film, there is one that we’re really excited about, Disney’s Tomorrowland: A World Beyond. Considering the film is not only directed by the Ratatouille and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol helm Brad Bird, but also stars one George Clooney, Disney have been refreshingly tight-lipped on the project. Up till now we had only had a brief synopsis, and an even briefer teaser-trailer, but last night saw the release of a new trailer that offers us a larger glimpse into the world of tomorrow, and boy does it look amazing.
Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity (Britt Robertson) and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment (Clooney) embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory as “Tomorrowland.”
It is to Disney’s credit that even after seeing the trailer, not much has been given away. Still, I’m sure a lot of people will be going to see the film based on the footage of the bath-come-rocket alone – myself included.
Written by Damon Lindelof, and also starring Hugh Laurie, Tomorrowland: A World Beyond certainly looks like it has the key ingredients to be a summer hit. The film is released in UK cinemas on 22nd May.
