Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Teases Doctor Doom’s Powers
Marvel Studios has released a brand-new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at D23, focusing on Doctor Doom and his powers. You can watch it here.
“Victor was always the smartest guy in every room; he used to be different,” Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby) narrates as she explains to the heroes exactly what Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) is like. But it’s looking bleak for the heroes we know and love as she continues: “He used to be kind, he used to be caring… and then, everything he loved was taken from him.” It’s a chilling introduction to Doom, with the trailer making it clear that the heroes are facing a threat unlike anything they’ve seen before.
The trailer then goes on to show clips of the heroes living their normal lives as Doom tells Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), “all of you have lived stolen lives, but now you must give them back,” teasing that Doomsday could have a heavy emotional impact alongside all the action. We then see the extent of Doom’s powers as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) attempts to stop him, only to be immediately swatted away. Doom then raises an army of Sentinels, declaring, “Hell answers for me; I am Doom.”

When presenting the new trailer at D23, Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell teased their comeback after the ending of Avengers: Endgame, saying, “Now, we know that there’s nothing this crowd loves more than a happy ever after. And Steve Rogers was so close to getting his at the end of Avengers: Endgame. We should’ve known better.”
Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds also crashed the presentation, adding, “I just wanted to check in totally unprompted,” Jackman said, as an off-screen Reynolds egged him on. “Just wondering if you might need some help rounding out the cast? I’d love to join. And I don’t know, I might be able to convince Ryan to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.” This follows after Reynolds crashed the SDCC panel on Doomsday last month.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the confirmed cast for Doomsday also includes: Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena, with Tenoch Huerta Mejia.
Synopsis | Avengers: Doomsday follows beloved heroes from three distinct universes as they are set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
Avengers: Doomsday releases in cinemas on December 18th.
