“Destroy their history, you destroy their achievements” If your frustrated at the delayed release of George Clooney’s The Monuments Men and now wondering if the wait will be worth it, check out the film’s new UK trailer that wait may just be worth it!
The Artsy Dozen is set during World War 2, a true story of a squad of art lovers, gallery owners, curators and historians sent on a rescue mission to Europe to steal back the price  art and artifacts the Nazis where about to be destroyed.
Many questions where asked about  The Monuments Men quality leaving it’s December awards qualifying release date to February date. Despite many critics stating the film will be in the running for those awards Clooney himself said winning awards was not his attention and the delay was only to give him more time to finish the film properly. When we look back at those trailers we have to agree this new UK trailer looks a lot better, leaner, the humour is sharper overall the tone of the film looks just right. The comparisons to Ocean 11 look even more prominent  we even get a slice of  that film’s score in this trailer too!  Whenever Clooney is behind the camera (and front too) we know things are going to be fun and with this now coming out at a part of the film year that’s usually quiet timing of the release might just work out perfectly!
The Monuments Men stars Matt Damon, John Goodman, Bob Balaban, Bill Murray, Cate Blanchett, Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville. The film is set for a  14th February 2014 UK Release (USA 7th February).
Synopsis
Based on the true story of the greatest treasure hunt in history, The Monuments Men focuses on an unlikely World War II platoon, tasked by FDR with going into Germany to rescue artistic masterpieces from Nazi thieves and returning them to their rightful owners. It would be an impossible mission: with the art trapped behind enemy lines, and with the German army under orders to destroy everything asthe Reich fell, how could these guys – seven museum directors, curators, and art historians, all more familiar with Michelangelo than theM-1 – possibly hope to succeed? But as the Monuments Men, as they were called, found themselves in a race against time to avoid the destruction of 1000 years of culture, they would risk their lives to protect and defend mankind’s greatest achievements.
