Every decade there is always a band who are labelled ‘one hit wonders’, the 1980’s one of those bands was A-Ha. If you know the bands history, in there native Norway they where far from a one hit wonder. Next month  you can watch there story on the big screen when Modern Films release A-Ha: The Movie  and today you can watch the film’s official UK Trailer.

It’s astonishing to think it’s 37 years since their  biggest hit ‘Take On Me‘ propelled three young guys from Oslo into the world music scene. Synth-pop group of Morten Harket, Magne Furuholmen, and  Pål Waktaar-Savoy became overnight sensations all thanks to that one song. A song that has been covered by many other bands and is still a favourite in Karaoke bars today. Thomas Robsahm’s documentary tells the story of the meteoritic rise of the band and 3 young guys achieving their dreams…

a-ha’s hit ‘Take On Me’ is still one of the most played songs of the last millennium. This documentary follows the band over a period of four extraordinary years, sharing the full story of how three young men followed their impossible dream of making it big. When Take On Me reached number 1 on Billboard in the US in 1985, buoyed by Steve Barron’s iconic sketch-animation music video, that dream came true.

Almost 35 years after their breakthrough, a-ha still creates magic on stage with their timeless music. They tour the world but drive in separate cars and stay apart backstage. They only meet on stage, while doing the one thing they love.

The film closely portrays the challenging creative and personal dynamics of a group of three strong individuals. This is a story of great music, big ambitions, broken friendship – and maybe forgiveness.

A-Ha: The Movie will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 20th May.
