A ‘First Look Featurette’ For Respect Starring Jennifer Hudson
After a year if disruption with Covid-19 the film scheduling of those delayed release films is quickly clearing. In a few monthsย we will finally see Jennifer Hudson play Aretha Franklin in Respect.
Today Universal Pictures have released a new behind the scenes Featurette called ‘First Look‘. The four minute promo the singer-actress talks about her role to becoming the Queen Of Soul. From her been chosen to play the icon, singing her classic songs live and off course all those little things to replicate Franklin as best as she could. The promo does include snippets of footage and other interviews with the director as well as other cast.
Respect charting the singerโs early days singing as a young girl in her fatherโs church choir, right through to her international stardom. She wrote and sung many of her classic songs through U.Sโs turbulent civil rights era pf the 1960โs. During a time when a African Americanโs rights were non existent, she continued pursuing her dream.
