Her voice changed everything and in late Summer the long awaited biopic for Aretha Franklin, Respect will arrive finally in cinemas. Today Universal Pictures unveil a new UK Trailer that reveals Jennifer Hudson is ‘special’, a genius, the ‘Queen Of Soul‘.

2021 may not be perfect, those closed doors of 2020 are slowly opening once again. Cinemas are opening and no longer are all releases released just online. So many of the greatest, influential musicians are getting that biopic that showcases their rise to the top (sometimes down again). Miss Franklin was a talent and this film hopefully inspire, and bring a smile (maybe a tear or two) to those who adored her.

Respect will chart the singer’s early days as a young girl singing in her father’s church choir, right through to her international stardom. She wrote and sung many of her classic songs through U.S’s turbulent civil rights era pf the 1960’s. A time when a African American’s rights were non existent, she continued pursuing her dream.

Pardon the expression here’s hoping this film gives the iconic singer the ‘respect’ she truly deserves…
