Many movies might receive loads of nominations, but very few end up scooping all the awards at the Oscars, unless you’re Everything Everywhere All At Once, which won big at the 2023 Oscars.
After All Quiet On The Western Front dominated the BAFTAs, the 95th Academy Awards The Daniels film scooped up as expected. Winning seven of the eleven nomination including Michelle Yeoh picking up best actress, the first Asian woman to do so. The film also picked up Best Picture, Best Director to name a few, the first film to pick up the most gongs since Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire.
After the disappointment of the BAFTAs Brendan Fraser wins Best Actor for The Whale. Jamie Lee Curtis won Best Supporting Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once an award many believed Angela Bassett should have won for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
There wouldn’t be an Oscar ceremony without some sort of controversary. This year there was no slaps just ‘obnoxious’ actors like Hugh Grant with his ‘painful’ red carpet interview.
