Panah Panahi’s Festival Favourite Hot The Road Gets A UK Trailer

When it comes to Iranian cinema Jafar Panahi is one of the leading names. Last year at 2021 Cannes Film his son Jafar made his debut with Hit The Road and this July that it arrives in the UK. Picturehouse have now released the film’s delightful UK Trailer.

The Panahi’s directorial feature has been collecting rave reviews as it hit the ‘festival’ road including been named ‘best film’ at last year’s BFI London Film Festival. The festival journey is now over, the cinematic journey begins.

Journeys can be fun, they can also be stressful depending on the reasons. In this one we follow a family embarking on a long journey over rugged landscapes. Chaos breaks out as well as emotions in a slow burning study of humanity with a comical side.

Driving across endless miles of rugged landscape, a family navigates a long road trip alongside a range of conflicting emotions. Dad’s got a broken leg and a mood to match whilst Mum fusses over her two children and their pet dog. And when he’s not drawing on the car windows, their energetic youngest son couldn’t be louder as he sings along to the car radio whilst his elder brother tries to concentrate on the road ahead. As the journey twists and turns and their destination draws ever closer, the chaotic claustrophobia in the car grows as does the love and affection they have for each other. Accompanied by a brilliant soundtrack, Panah Panahi’s thrilling debut feature is a treasure; tender, quirky, and laugh-out-loud funny. Get ready to take an unmissable journey along the dusty road of life.

Panah Panahi is the son of Iranian master filmmaker Jafar Panahi, and with HIT THE ROAD has immediately established himself as a major director.

The film stars Pantea Panahiha, Hasan Majuni, Rayan Sarlak, and Amin Simiar.

Hit The Road will arrive in UK and Irish cinemas from 29th July.
