Whodunnit In Rain Johnson’s Knives Out First Trailer?

Life after The Last Jedi, as Rian Johnson returns to the big screen this Autumn/Winter with Knives Out. Johnson’s whodunnit looks like a love letter to Agatha Christie novel’s with a murder in the family.

Today Lionsgate Films has released the film’s first UK Trailer showcases an awesome A-list cast. If it wasn’t the butler whodunnit, was it James Bond? Captain America? General Zod or even Laurie Strode?

From promo, its obvious Christopher Plummer is the victim, but why? Whilst paying homage to those whodunnit dramas here in Blighty are infamous for, does this have a metaphor? American political system? It promises twists. Here’s hoping it can deliver something original…

Acclaimed writer and director Rian Johnson (Brick, Looper, The Last Jedi) pays tribute to mystery mastermind Agatha Christie in KNIVES OUT, a fun, modern-day murder mystery where everyone is a suspect. When renowned crime novelist Harlan Thrombey (Christopher Plummer) is found dead at his estate just after his 85th birthday, the inquisitive and debonair Detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) is mysteriously enlisted to investigate. From Harlan’s dysfunctional family to his devoted staff, Blanc sifts through a web of red herrings and self-serving lies to uncover the truth behind Harlan’s untimely death. With an all-star ensemble cast including Chris Evans, Ana De Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, Toni Collette, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell, KNIVES OUT is a witty and stylish whodunit guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the very end.

Monster line up with Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Katherine Langford, Jaeden Martell and Christopher Plummer .

Knives Out Doesn’t have a UK or Irish release date confirmed yet. It’s saying ‘coming Soon’, so no word if it’s 2019 or 2020. As for the USA, you’ll get it 17th November.
