Will Smith Fights Himself In Ang Lee’s Gemini Man First Trailer

They always say your own worst enemy and in Ang Lee‘s Gemini Man, Will Smith finds himself up against himself!

Paramount Pictures has released the official First Trailer for the Oscar winning director of Life Of Pi and Brokeback Mountain. Smith stars as ageing  elite assassin Henry Brogan who finds his every move predicted with great precision.

Who is this mysterious  younger operative tracking Henry? It isn’t long before Henry  realises the young pretender is himself! A younger clone version of himself, but who will save Henry from himself?

Gemini Man is an innovative action-thriller starring Will Smith as Henry Brogan, an elite assassin, who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move. The film is directed by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Ang Lee and produced by renown producers Jerry Bruckheimer, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger.

This film project has been around for over 20 years with the late Tony Scott brother of Ridley last director on the project. It seems this film may be one more about technology than an actual story line or who to play the lead role.Technology has drastically improved since the 1990’s making Gemini Man a possibility especially with anti-ageing CGI technology.

We saw that technology in full force in Captain Marvel and worked well with Samuel L Jackson. It will be a emotional and physical challenge for Will Smith and a potential of teaching an old dog new tricks. Lee has used Technology well in the past without making the film feel out of place. My concern is the film’s FPS (Frames Per Second) which seems to be 120 FPS. 24 FPS is the norm, anything past that at the moment feels strange or looking less cinematic.

Gemini Man doesn’t have a confirmed release date for the UK or Ireland. It’s still saying ‘Coming Soon’ however there is a few dates mentioned online with October 2019 a possibility. The film also co-stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen ,Benedict Wong and Douglas Hodge.
