Is it me but is every American independent movie a hit because it premiered at Sundance Festival? Most probably but I would say there is a few don’t deserve the credit but like to over use the fact there movie played at the festival, Drake Doremus LIKE CRAZY does look like it deserves the title of Sundance Hit!
The movie was the biggest sale at the festival, leaving a Sundance with glowing rave reviews, 2 awards of Grand Dury Prize and best breakout star with Felicity Jones, the movie might be new on the agenda for many of us here on the otherside of the atlantic but with the buzz coming from our American cousins its worth a look. The movie stars stars Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones both at college who fall in love and embark on a a passionate life changing journey with both becoming seperated due to her violating her visa. Despite the distance they pair attempt to keep the love going, the movie shows first love is blissful wonderful experience but also a devastating. I have to say I can relate to this movie simply because I had a girlfriend from China whom I was fortunate due to her job at the time I was able to to be with her alot but when things change myself been in Scotland her being in Southern China it was never going to work.Have you seen this movie? What did you think about it? Leave your thoughts below.
LIKE CRAZY also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Charlie Bewley, Ben York Jones, Chris Messina, Alex Kingston, Finola Hughes and will be released in UK & Ireland on February 3rd 2012 and for USA October 28th.
A love story is both a physical and emotional tale, one that can be deeply personal and heartbreaking for an audience to experience. Director Drake Doremus’ film Like Crazy beautifully illustrates how your first real love is as thrilling and blissful as it is devastating. When a British college student (Felicity Jones) falls for her American classmate (Anton Yelchin) they embark on a passionate and life-changing journey only to be separated when she violates the terms of her visa. Like Crazy explores how a couple faces the real challenges of being together and of being apart. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Best Picture at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and of the Special Jury Prize for Best Actress for Felicity Jones, Like Crazy depicts both the hopefulness and the heartbreak of love.
