It’s her game, her rules and in the second UK Trailer for Luca Guadagnino‘s Challengers, Zendaya is Unapologetic.
Originally this was meant to have been out last September, delayed thanks to last year’s Writers strike. Just when you thought Warner Bros has forgotten about the film, smash we have a new trailer. The actor does have a certain ‘small’ film coming out end of the month, you might have heard of it…Dune Part 2.
What this new promo gives us, is a little more of the story. One that will have a lot of drama mixed with fun elements. Highlight the injury that ended her career pushing her towards becoming a coach. Challengers is the name tennis tournament she teaches her husband (Mike Faist), who is about to go up against her former boyfriend (Josh O’Connor).
The film in the mean time hasn’t played at any film festivals. There is still time.

From visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist – West Side Story), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor – The Crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win.
Challengers will now be released in UK, Irish and U.S cinemas from 26th April. The film also stars A.J. Lister and Jake Jensen.
