X-Men’s Christopher Abbott Admits He “Hasn’t Read Anything”
Christopher Abbott (East Of Eden) recently told Entertainment Tonight that he’s still in the dark about his role as Professor X in the upcoming X-Men movie for Marvel.
He told the outlet, “I haven’t read anything yet. Nothing, I’m not even being coy. It’s true, I haven’t read anything. But I’m excited to work with Jake Schreier, I think he’s a great director, and that cast is really good. I can’t wait. I love X-Men.”

His role as Professor X, previously played by James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart, was announced at D23 in August alongside his other castmates. He joins Adam Driver as Nathaniel Millbury/Mister Sinister, Inde Navarrette (Obsession) as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Asa Germann as Angel. Fans have been eager to know more about the project ever since it was first announced, especially after Sadie Sink was finally confirmed as Jean Grey with the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
It remains to be seen what the plot of the film is at this stage, and if anyone else is joining the ensemble as here are still more names to come for the upcoming film from Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier, with Kevin Feige noting that these are just the cast members confirmed so far. At D23, it was also confirmed that Marvel’s X-Men will hit cinemas on May 5, 2028, following this year’s Avengers: Doomsday and next year’s Avengers: Secret Wars. With Ghost Rider and Black Panther 3 also set to arrive in 2028.
